Three UNLV undergraduates selected for summer REU at CUGB

Three UNLV undergraduates, Nicole Calica, Jonathan Gevorkian, and Joseph Peacock, are recipients of 10-week PIRE REU fellowships for summer 2011. The students will spend one week at UNLV for intensive short courses in Chinese language and culture before traveling to China to participate in The First International Meeting on Geomicrobiological Ecotoxicology in Wuhan, two weeks of field research in Tengchong, and four weeks of lab research at CUGB. Students will present their research in Wuhan and at the Undergraduate Research Opportunity for Program (UROP) annual meeting at UNLV.
