August 2, 2012
The Hedlund lab was awarded $25,000 in cloud computing time through the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Education Research grant program. The proposal entitled "Unraveling the Mysteries of Biological Dark Matter" provides computing time that will be used primarily to optimize assemblies of single-cell genomes and corresponding metagenomic bins, which will have a significant on projects funded by NSF, NASA, and DOE.
